About Stork Spinal Care
Stork Spinal Care was founded with a clear purpose: to provide a focused, thoughtful approach to upper cervical chiropractic care grounded in precision, restraint, and clinical accountability. We are led by Dr. Kelly Mix and Dr. Robert Stork. And our practice reflects a shared belief that meaningful care begins with understanding structure, not forcing outcomes.
Rather than offering a wide range of chiropractic techniques, we concentrate exclusively on upper cervical care using the NUCCA method. This decision was intentional. It allows us to maintain consistency, accuracy, and a depth of clinical focus that can be difficult to achieve in a generalized setting.
Both of us come from the Midwest, where practicality, honesty, and long-term thinking tend to shape how problems are approached. That background continues to influence how we practice today. We chose to build Stork Spinal Care in Idaho because the Treasure Valley reflects many of the same values—community-minded, active, and invested in quality of life rather than quick fixes.
Why This Practice Exists
Many patients arrive at Stork Spinal Care after years of trying different approaches. Some have experienced short-term relief without lasting change. Others feel hesitant about forceful adjustments or repetitive treatment plans that never seem to progress.
Early in our careers, we both recognized that not all spinal issues benefit from frequent manipulation or generalized care. The upper cervical spine—the craniocervical junction—plays a unique role in posture, balance, and neurological function. Addressing this area requires restraint, precision, and respect for the body’s ability to adapt when alignment is restored.
Stork Spinal Care was built to offer an alternative: a calm, measured environment where care decisions are guided by data, observation, and response—not routine.
This shared philosophy ensures that care remains consistent regardless of which doctor a patient sees, while still allowing for individualized clinical judgment.
Patients often comment that they feel heard here. We consider that an essential part of effective care—not an extra.
A Shared Philosophy, Two Perspectives
While we share the same clinical focus, each of us brings our own perspective to patient care. Together, we emphasize collaboration, continuing education, and thoughtful evaluation.
Our Team
Dr. Robert Stork
Dr. Stork studied the NUCCA technique in depth and did an internship at an office in Coupeville, WA on Whidbey Island. He was awarded his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa and after graduation he became an associate NUCCA doctor in a successful practice for three years in Graham, WA.
Coming to Idaho has been the plan since 1999. Dr. Stork fell in love with the state and its wilderness. He loves the outdoors while mountain biking and backpacking and spends his time with his wife and two boxer girl dogs.
Dr. Kelly Mix-Stork
Dr. Mix was planning on becoming a forensic psychologist when life stepped in and put her on the right path…it was Dr. Stork who told her about NUCCA. Dr. Mix was awarded her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
She practiced as an associate doctor in a NUCCA office in Kent, Washington for three years before coming to Idaho in 2005. Dr. Mix enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Choosing NUCCA as a Long-Term Commitment
Specializing in NUCCA care requires a significant commitment. It demands advanced training, attention to detail, and ongoing refinement of technique. For us, NUCCA was not an add-on—it became the foundation of our clinical work.
By limiting our focus, we are able to:
This commitment reflects a broader philosophy that guides everything we do: doing fewer things, better.
Maintain accuracy in analysis and correction
Track patient progress with greater clarity
Avoid conflicting methods that dilute outcomes
Create a predictable care experience for patients
Outside the office, we enjoy staying active, spending time outdoors, and sharing life with our dogs—details that patients often notice and comment on. Those personal connections matter to us because they reflect how we approach care: relational, thoughtful, and long-term focused.
A Practice Built Around Patient Experience
Stork Spinal Care is designed to feel calm, professional, and unrushed. Appointments are structured to allow time for evaluation, explanation, and questions. We encourage patients to understand what is happening and why, rather than simply being told what to do.
Serving the Treasure Valley Community
We proudly serve patients from Garden City, Boise, Meridian, and the surrounding Treasure Valley. As a practice with a specialized focus, many patients travel specifically to seek NUCCA care.
We view our role in the community as one of service and education. We welcome informed patients, thoughtful questions, and individuals who want to understand their care rather than rush through it.
Care That Respects the Body’s Intelligence
Many patients find this approach refreshing, particularly if they have felt pressured elsewhere to commit to aggressive or indefinite treatment plans.
Who Stork Spinal Care Is Right For
This practice may not be the right fit for individuals seeking frequent forceful adjustments or immediate symptom-based treatment without evaluation. That clarity helps ensure strong alignment between patient expectations and clinical approach.
